Jets’ Sanchez takes it easy in afternoon practice
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Mark Sanchez is not participating in 11-on-11 team drills in the New York Jets’ afternoon practice after going through a full session in the morning.
The second-year quarterback is recovering from offseason knee surgery and feels he’s about 100 percent healthy. Still, the team may be limiting him to one practice a day so he doesn’t push himself.
Sanchez had the patella-stabilizing ligament in his left knee repaired in February, and participated in 11-on-11 team drills last week for the first time since the surgery.
He looked mobile and unimpeded Monday morning, and threw passes in 7-on-7 drills in the afternoon.
Sanchez was a presenter at the Tony Awards on Sunday night, attending with actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
