Brazil, North Korea level at 0-0 after 15 minutes
JOHANNESBURG — Brazil and North Korea are level at 0-0 after the first 15 minutes of their World Cup match.
Brazil threatened in the second minute but North Korea’s An Yong Hak took the ball off Kaka’s toes as he prepared to shoot.
Elano and Robinho each sent long-range shots wide in the seventh minute for Brazil.
The defensive-minded North Koreans put five men along their back line, and played with only Japan-based Jong Tae Se in attack.
Jong dribbled through three tackles in the 11th minute but his shot was easily saved by goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
Several Brazil players wore gloves on a chilly night with temperatures at just above freezing at Ellis Park.
