Portugal, Ivory Coast scoreless after 15 minutes
PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa — Portugal and Ivory Coast were both attacking aggressively but the teams remained scoreless after 15 minutes of their World Cup match Tuesday.
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo rattled a 30-yard strike off the left post in the 11th minute Tuesday to nearly put his team ahead.
Ivory Coast looked stronger of the two teams earlier in the match, that began in partial sunshine but with blustery winds off the Indian Ocean and a temperature of 48 degrees.
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, with a soft cast on his broken right arm, was cleared to play for Ivory Coast but did not start.
