NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Only three months are left before the Commonwealth Games 2010 begins in the capital of India. The organizing committee is leaving no stones unturned to make the event a grand success and it has started publicity generation events already in various parts of India. A bike rally was one of the examples that was started off on Sunday. It will end at Leh and 34 bikers have taken part in it to promote the event. It will last for a fortnight as it has been reported. Suresh Kalmadi, who is the OC chairman said that this rally will spread the spirit of the event in the country. The ads and campaigns in media have also started.

However, the rally and other promotional events associated with the Commonwealth Games 2010 have not gone down well with everyone. The Bhartiya Janata Party’s senior vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said that the money that is being spent after promoting the event and developing the capital is actually benefiting some individuals involved with the work. He said in a statement that the UPA government should intervene to ensure that the expenditure is kept under control. He lashed out at the Delhi government for spending extravagantly in the name of promoting the event and also alleged that the cost has exceeded the preset limit.

He said that the PM of India Dr Manmohan Singh should take note of the wasteful expenditure being made in Delhi for the promotion of the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2010. He also referred to a NGO report that claims that the expenditure has increased manifold.
