NEW DELHI (GaeaTimes.com)- The Commonwealth Games 2010 are just round the corner and preparations for the event are at a peak in the Indian capital. However, if media reports are to be believed, then the organizers of the sporting event are apparently very worried over the fact that a lot of work will have to be done before India can declare that this year’s Commonwealth Games has been the best ever.

The Commonwealth Games 2010 will begin from the 3rd of October and the New Delhi authorities have precisely sixty days in hand before they can set the stage for this year’s event. However it is the monsoons which have hit not only the city but the entire country as well which has raised anxiety levels among the organizers. Reports in the media claim that while the stadiums which are scheduled to host the Commonwealth events in New Delhi are still under construction, the roads of the city are also in very bad condition. In such a state, the organizers and the Indian government are very worried about the impression that the country will draw in the eyes of the large number of tourists who will visit India to attend the October Commonwealth Games 2010.

While the organizing committee is trying its best to complete work in the city very fast, it is the heavy monsoons which has come as a deterrent in the path of the construction workers of the Commonwealth Games 2010. To top it all, allegations of corruption that has just hit the Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee will further stand as a barrier in the path of progress of work feel the workers. Chief Suresh Kalmadi though begs to differ.
