Argentina leads South Korea 2-1 at halftime
JOHANNESBURG — A header by Gonzalo Higuain and an own goal by South Korea’s Park Chu-young have given Argentina a 2-1 lead at halftime in their Group B match at the World Cup on Thursday.
Lionel Messi’s corner seemed to touch Argentina defender Martin Demichelis before hitting Park and going into the net in the 17th minute at Soccer City.
Higuain made it 2-0 by heading in the bouncing ball in the 33rd after Nicolas Burdisso had flicked on a cross from Maxi Rodriguez.
Lee Chung-yong pulled a goal back in injury time for South Korea after an error by Argentina’s defense.
Burdisso came on the 23rd for Walter Samuel, who appeared to have a leg injury.
