Argentina, Greece level at 0-0 after 60 minutes
POLOKWANE, South Africa — Argentina hasn’t been able to find a way through a Greece’s packed defense after 60 minutes and their Group B match remains tied at 0-0 at the World Cup on Tuesday.
Argentina has dominated possession but the Greek defense is holding up.
Greece had its best chance in the 48th minute, when Georgios Samaras had the Argentine defense beat but his shot from the left side sailed wide of the far post. The speed and height of Samaras, the only Greece forward, are a challenge for Argentina.
Two days before his 23rd birthday, Lionel Messi has become Argentina’s youngest captain.
Argentina will finish first with a win but can also advance with a loss, depending on Nigeria’s match against South Korea. Greece can also go through.
