Nigeria leads South Korea 1-0
DURBAN, South Africa — Nigeria leads South Korea are 1-0 after 15 minutes in their final Group B match.
Kalu Uche scored in the 12th minute after the Koreans had pressed for the early goal in the fast-paced game. A cross from the right wing by Chidi Odiah set it up.
Lee Chung-yong nearly punished a defensive error in the second minute. He slid to try and beat Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama but mis-hit his shot. Ki Sung-yong shot wide six minutes later.
Veteran Nwankwo Kanu started for winless Nigeria. The Koreans started the game in second place with three points, same as Greece but ahead on goal differential.
