LONDON (GaeaTimes.com)- Andy Roddick registered a stunning victory against fellow American Rajeev Ram in the All England Club to proceed into the second round of this year’s Wimbledon championship. The three-time Wimbledon runner-up beat Rajeev Ram by 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 after the game unfolded at the Court No.1 of the All England Club for a period of one hour and twenty three minutes. Despite the fact that Rajeev Ram was able to offer some resistance as the game proceeded, he hardly had anything much to do as his opponent was in his destructive best.
Andy Roddick’s victory over Rajeev Ram at the end of the game hardly came as a surprise as the fifth seeded player was able to remain in control almost throughout the game. In the first set itself, the three-time Wimbledon runner-up displayed an amazing play at the net while showcasing his prowess over the game in all the successive sets. Although Rajeev Ram tried his best to overpower his opponent, he was completely dominated by Andy Roddick in the seventh round with the fifth seeded player clinching victory with an impressive ace.
The large number of crowds gathered at the All England Club cheered boisterously as Andy Roddick emerged victorious against Rajeev Ram, who was looking to garner his very first grand slam match victory. Meanwhile, the manner in which the three-time Wimbledon runner-up completely crushed his opponent during Monday’s showdown highlighted his urge to register his first Wimbledon victory, especially after his defeat at last year’s tournament against Roger Federer. Last year’s loss was Andy Roddick’s third failure to clinch victory in Wimbledon against Roger Federer after earlier defeats in 2004 and 2005.
