Schweinsteiger doubtful for England match
ERASMIA, South Africa — Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could miss the second-round World Cup match with England because of a right-thigh injury.
Assistant coach Hansi Flick says time is short until Sunday’s match in Bloemfontein to get Schweinsteiger fit, although doctors believe there could be a chance he might recover enough to play.
Left back Jerome Boateng is also doubtful after sustaining a calf injury in Wednesday’s 1-0 win against Ghana that advanced Germany to the second round.
Schweinsteiger has assumed some of the defensive duties of injured captain Michael Ballack, who is missing the tournament because of an ankle injury.

I hope that Bastian did not play in the match play tomorrow. and of course I hope Rooney can perform well and scoring goals. |
