Switzerland, Honduras 0-0 after 60 minutes
BLOEMFONTEIN, South Africa — Switzerland and Honduras are locked at 0-0 after 60 minutes of their World Cup Group H match Friday.
Winless Honduras could have taken the lead in the 53rd minute, but unguarded striker David Suazo flicked his header wide after clever work by right wing Edgar Alvarez.
The Swiss threatened with a similar chance in the 17th minute when Tranquillo Barnetta crossed for Eren Derdiyok, but he headed off target from 6 yards.
Derdiyok then provided a cross for Blaise Nkufo just before halftime, but Nkufo could only chest the ball tamely across the goal.
With Spain leading its final group game against Chile, Switzerland needs to beat Honduras to have any chance of reaching the round of 16.
