DES MOINES (GaeaTimes.com)- Sanya Richards Ross might pull out from the finals of women’s 400m USA Outdoor Championships. Reportedly, Sanya Richards Ross is awaiting her lane assignment following which she shall take her final decision.

Sanya Richards Ross had struggled all throughout the semifinals where she emerged fourth to book her last transfer spot for the final race. As it is speculated, Sanya Richards Ross might draw for the first or the eighth lane in the finals. When asked about her decision to quit from the final race, Sanya Richards Ross told the media that if she is assigned lane 1 then she might have to take her name off from the race. Sanya Richards Ross further said that if she starts off in Lane 1 then it’s going to be a tight run which might hurt her right quad. The athlete is yet to recover from her injury which has taken a heavy toll on her right quad. She felt that the race would help her mentally overcome the strain but now she might have to quit owing to the injury.

As it appears, Sanya Richards Ross might draw for Lane 8 in the finals which shall still give her a chance to compete against others. Sanya Richards Ross has always avoided Lane 1 even as she practiced. The athlete got hurt just before she was getting ready for her Penn Relays run way back in the month of April. Since then Sanya Richards Ross has not been able to deliver her best in the tracks. Along with Sanya Richards Ross Briana Nelson, Stacey-Ann Smith and Alicia Peterson have made it to the finals.
