SAN JOSE (GaeaTimes.com)- Frank Shamrock announced his retirement from Strikeforce at San Jose on Saturday. Frank Shamrock happens to be one of the pioneers of mixed martial arts who was also the first one to have won the Ultimate Fighting Championship light-heavyweight title. The last time when Frank Shamrock had battled it out on Strikeforce was against Nick Diaz in the year of 2009 where he lost the game. Since then Frank Shamrock has been offering training on martial arts and also acted as a commentator.

On Saturday, Frank Shamrock said that time has come for him to part ways with Strikeforce. He said that this is the right time for retirement which would give a chance to all upcoming martial arts players to rise up and take over. Frank Shamrock said that he is happy with the performance of upcoming martial arts stars like Cristiane Cyborg and Gilbert Melendez. Frank Shamrock has always been up and ahead to better the condition of martial arts fighters and enhance the game pay at Strikeforce. As a matter of fact, Frank Shamrock was the first one who supported the idea of “mixed” element in martial arts.

Frank Shamrock joined hands with Bas Rutten to train people and teach them the striking and grappling technique of martial arts. Speaking of his retirement, Frank Shamrock said that he is happy to witness how martial arts have gained huge popularity. He has great expectations from the upcoming martial arts fighters and he is definite that they won’t disappoint him. Frank Shamrock also underlined that he has always been close to Strikeforce and shall continue to do so even after his retirement.
