JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (GaeaTimes.com)- Argentina will face Mexico in tonight’s FIFA World Cup match. With both teams looking to make a place in the quarterfinals, the clash is a highly anticipated one for the soccer fans. Both the teams have done well so far in the tournament within their respective groups. As the tournament moves on to its knock-out stage the clashes in store also become more high profile. With big teams such as Germany and England clashing, there will be a complete feast for the audience on June 27.
Argentina have so far shown excellent team work and dexterous attack in the tournament. Though Lionel Messi has been due to score more goals, he has shown extraordinary form in the tournament. The Argentinian defense, however, has been more volatile and has shown lack of experience in some parts of the earlier games. Mexico on the other hand have a balanced attack. They will be glad to have Efrain Juarez in their defense. The sad news for the Mexican fans might be Carlos Vela’s probable absence in the match. He is presently recovering from a hamstring injury and there are chances that he will be on the bench.
For Mexico, the match holds more emotional value because they were knocked out of the last FIFA World Cup in 2006 by Argentina at the exactly same stage. Argentina stole the last World Cup match from them at the extra-time with a goal by Maxi Rodriguez. The Mexicans therefore will be looking for revenge. With both teams matched better than any time before, Mexico will have enough confidence to take down the South American football giant.
