Brazil leads Chile 3-0 after 75 minutes
JOHANNESBURG — Robinho’s second-half goal has given Brazil a 3-0 lead against Chile after 75 minutes of their second-round World Cup match Monday.
Juan and Luis Fabiano scored within 4 minutes of the first half and Robinho extended Brazil’s lead in the 59th, curling a shot inside the right post.
Juan connected on Maicon’s corner kick in the 34th, sending his header into goalkeeper Claudio Bravo’s upper right corner.
Luis Fabiano made it 2-0 in the 38th when he rounded Bravo after picking up Kaka’s pass into the penalty area.
Chile started the second half aggressively, but has yet to create any real danger. Humberto Suazo had Chile’s only shot on target in the 13th minute.
Brazil is on course to play the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.
