Diego Forlan trains normally despite toe injury
KIMBERLEY, South Africa — Uruguay striker Diego Forlan has taken part in normal training as he recovers from a toe injury heading to the team’s World Cup quarterfinal against Ghana.
The striker was hurt against South Korea in the round of 16. The team didn’t say which toe was injured, or on which foot.
The only doubtful player for Uruguay is Diego Godin, who has a left thigh injury. Godin trained apart from the squad Tuesday, but the center back began to practice with a ball.
The team trained in Kimberley before traveling to Johannesburg, where the South Americans will meet Ghana at Soccer City.
Forlan says the team shouldn’t change its style when it faces the only African team left in the tournament.
