OMAHA (GaeaTimes.com)- Tuesday night’s final baseball championship game of the College World Series that was held at the Rosenblatt Stadium turned out to be not only interesting but also memorable. The game between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) became the last game of the College World Series to be hosted in the historical Rosenblatt Stadium as the venue of the game from the next year would be shifting to a new stadium at downtown Omaha. If it was the first baseball title win for the South California then it was also the last to be won in the Rosenblatt Stadium and this made the win of the South Carolina all the more sweet.
On Tuesday as the South Carolina Gamecocks went on to win the game with a 2-1 margin over the UCLA many people turned up to witness the last College World Series baseball game at the Rosenblatt Stadium. Although at the beginning of the game it was the UCLA team that was seen leading with a score, the eighth innings of the game turned out to be the turning point. In the eight innings the South Carolina tied the score to 1-1 and then did not provide any more opportunity to its opponent to go for a run. In the 11th innings the former made history by score another point with the RBI single of Whit Merrifield.
After the historical win of the South Carolina team, the coach of the team Ray Tanner said that once they were able to make it to the CWS, the team’s aim was to remain in the series till the end as they knew they would become the part of the history of Rosenblatt Stadium if they won the series or made it to the finals.
