Uruguay ties Ghana at 1-1 after 60 minutes
JOHANNESBURG — Uruguay has struck back and is tied 1-1 with Ghana after an hour of their World Cup quarterfinal match.
Diego Forlan scored in the 55th minute on a free kick for his third goal of the tournament.
Ghana scored in first-half injury time on a swerving, long-range shot that deceived the goalkeeper. Sulley Muntari’s 35-yard left-footed shot bounced beyond goalkeeper Fernando Muslera’s dive.
The winner of Friday’s quarterfinal will play the Netherlands in the semifinals.
