German exposed our weakness, left us naked: Argentine media

BUENOS AIRES - The Argentine press showed no mercy as Diego Maradona’s team were knocked out of the World Cup. “We crashed into a very solid Germany” said Ole. La Nacion added: “They exposed our weaknesses, leaving us naked.”

“Sweat and Tears” was the daily sports paper Ole’s online headline. “This time it was worse than being beaten by them four years ago because they scored so early and Diego (Maradona) had no answer,” it added.

La Nacion said: “The Germans beat us 4-0. We could never get back into the game after the early goal.”

Clarin said: “Argentina said goodbye after a real hammering. The team suffered with that early goal and simply could not respond. We lost the chance to reach the

semi-finals for the first time in 20 years.”
