LAS VEGAS (GaeaTimes.com)- American mixed martial arts fighter Brock Lesnar registered a spectacular victory against Shane Carwin in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night. With the victory the heavyweight champion was able to defend his title and successfully secured his supremacy in the heavyweight division. The 32 year old heavyweight champion suffered a violent onslaught from his opponent in the opening round of the UFC 116 fight but made a stunning comeback in the second round by scoring a takedown and trapping Shane Carwin with an arm-triangle choke that brought an end to the bout at two minute, nineteen seconds in the second round.

The win during last night’s bout which enabled Brock Lesnar to defend his heavyweight title must have been all the more special for the mixed martial arts fighter as he made a comeback in the fighting arena after a gap of almost one year owing to a severe intestinal problem. As the bout commenced, Shane Carwin was able to overtake his opponent in the first round as he rained dozens of blows to Brock Lesnar that made him look almost invincible. However, as the next round went underway, the heavyweight champion was able to score a rather quick takedown which was followed by an eventual bout-ending arm-triangle choke.

As heavyweight champion was declared the winner of the Brock Lesnar Vs. Shane Carwin fight, an emotional Brock Lesnar told the spectators gathered at the MGM Grand garden Arena that the victory was not just about him tonight but it was all about his family, his doctors and his training staffs.
