By ANIFriday, July 9, 2010
BERLIN - Germany’s oracle octopus Paul has predicted Spain as the winner of this year’s FIFA World Cup.
In a live television broadcast watched across the world, Paul placed himself on a container carrying the Spanish flag, as opposed to one containing the Dutch flag.
The two-year-old celebrity octopus has accurately picked the outcome of all six of Germany’s World Cup matches so far, took just three minutes to decide who the winner would be.
On Friday, Paul also tipped Germany to beat Uruguay in the World Cup match for third place.
Paul’s selections have become top news across the world. After he accurately picked Spain to beat Germany in the semi-final, some Germans called for his public roasting. Newspapers and websites were filled with suggestions on how to cook and eat him. (ANI)
