LONDON - McLaren Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he sees Sunday’s British Grand Prix as just another stepping stone to recapturing the championship title.

Championship leader Hamilton has a six-point lead over teammate Jenson Button going into the race at Silverstone.

“I want to win the championship, that’s the most important thing to me, but I don’t have any emotions to get run away with,” The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

“I’m here. It’s another weekend. I want to get in, get out, do the best job possible,” he added.

The 25-year-old further said that winning the British GP is not the ‘be-all and end-all’.

“It doesn’t shape your career. It’s just one of the things you want to achieve. It’s one ticked off, but you want to win it more and more. If Jenson and I are on the front row we want to get around the first corner and first lap in the best positions possible and end it that way,” Hamilton said.

“Maybe we’ll be able to race and that’d be cool. A nice clean battle and see who comes out on top, but we are not going to do something stupid to take both of us out. We are not that desperate,” he added. (ANI)
