JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (GaeaTimes.com)- Dani Jarque, the player from Spain who had lost his life as a result of a heart attack in the month of August last year, was remembered by the Spanish team after their spectacular win last night in South Africa. Andres Iniesta may have scored the winning goal for Spain in the World Cup 2010 but that is hardly the reason why he is being talked about in the media.
After the match drew to a close, Andres Iniesta removed his jersey to reveal an undershirt on which was inscribed the words “Dani Jarque siempre con nostros”, the English translation of which would be “Dani Jarque always with us”. His act was a fitting tribute to friend and team mate Dani Jarque. The tribute brought tears in the eyes of not only the Spanish fans but also kept the entire world moved. Seldom do we get to see such acts, and when they do occur and that too on a massive platform like the World Cup field, they go down to be recorded in the pages of history.
This year Spain has not only created history by winning their first ever World Cup, the tribute to Dani Jarque in the Soccer City Stadium of South Africa has added a new dimension to the finale game of World Cup 2010. Andres Iniesta’s tribute will be remembered for a long time to come, it has drawn such an impression on the minds of the spectators of last night’s final match, that millions across the world will now cherish the value of a friend and the pain of losing him to an untimely accident.
