NEW DELHI - With barely 70 days to go for the Commonwealth Games and several projects running behind schedule, officials from the central and Delhi governments Saturday discussed issues linked to the smooth conduct of the event in October.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna chaired the meeting of the high-level co-ordination committee which discussed in detail various aspects of security and traffic control besides sanitation.
The meeting was attended by Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrasekhar, Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi and Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta.
“Several decisions were taken during the meeting to resolve inter-departmental issues for the smooth conduct of the Games,” a Raj Bhavan official said.
The committee will again meet Aug 17 pertaining to the Games, which are to be held Oct 3-14.
