NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — It seems the NewYork Mets are fading fast in the National League East and the Wild Card Race. After playing 13 innings on Wednesday night, the New York Mets lost to St.Louis Cardinals in another game.
The St. Louis Cardinals blew a big lead against the Mets on Wednesday, but got a clutch hit from Albert Pujols in the 13th , before reaching the victory. The loss was the seventh in the last 10 games for New York as they fell to seven and a half games back in the National League east and just a game over 500. For Thursday’s afternoon game the Mets start R.A. Dickey who has lost his last four decisions. For the season Dickey has allowed 55 hits and 15 earned runs while striking out 37 in 60 and two-thirds innings of work.
The Win helped St. Louis keep their one game lead in the National League Central and was their sixth win in their last 10 games.
The Mets simply don’t look like the same team who were having a fly earlier this year. While a few weeks ago the Mets looked to be almost a lock to make to the playoffs, now it looks like it may take a miracle to get them there.
