Taiwan’s Tseng wins Women’s British Open by a shot

SOUTHPORT England — Taiwan’s Yani Tseng has won the Women’s British Open by one stroke, making a 6-foot putt on the last hole to hold off Australia’s Katherine Hull.

Hull had trailed Tseng by four strokes entering Sunday’s final round at Royal Birkdale but pulled within a stroke coming to the 18th hole.

The Aussie missed a 20-foot birdie attempt and finished with a 70. Tseng made her par putt for a 73 and an 11-under 277 total.

This was her third title and she won $408,000 in prize money.
