LONDON - BBC’s Trackside Reporter Lee McKenzie is to become the first woman to present Formula 1 on British TV in the 60-year history of the programme in place of regular presenter Jake Humphrey.
Humphrey will be in New Delhi for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
“Miss McKenzie will present the programme with former Formula One drivers Martin Brundle and David Coulthard and former team boss Eddie Jordan providing the punditry,” reports Daily Mail.
“I work very, very hard at my job. There are other girls in F1 who do my job. Some are dressed like they’re going to a nightclub. But that’s not how I do things - and it’s definitely not what the BBC wants,” said McKenzie.
“The drivers are extremely respectful. I don’t hide away from the fact I’m a female, and I’m sure there are times it has been a benefit. Other times, it goes against me,” she added. (ANI)
