Falcons lose rookie Kerry Meier to knee injury
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have lost rookie receiver Kerry Meier to a season-ending knee injury.
Meier, a fifth-round pick from Kansas, suffered the injury in Thursday night’s 28-10 preseason loss to the New England Patriots. No details of the injury were immediately available.
The 6-foot-3 Meier was expected to provide depth and possibly compete for job as the No. 3 receiver. He was placed on injured reserve late Friday.
The Falcons lost Harry Douglas to a knee injury in the 2009 training camp. Douglas returned against the Patriots.
