Rooney to fly to Switzerland for England’s Euro 2012 qualifier

LONDON - British footballer Wayne Rooney is all set to fly to Switzerland on Monday for England’s Euro 2012 qualifier despite allegations about him having a relationship with a prostitute, Jenny Thompson.
The Football Association said the whole squad will fly out for Tuesday’s group C match.
England midfielder James Milner confirmed the news to the media that Rooney trained with the squad on Sunday.
After a dismal performance at the 2010 World Cup, Rooney provided much of his team’s creative spark against the Bulgarians at Wembley, where the team won 4-0.
“He’s a top player, he showed it on Friday and trained fully today [Sunday]. I’m sure he’ll continue to do that. Things are always said in the newspapers. It is part and parcel of football and down to us to make sure the only thing that matters is what happens on the pitch,” The BBC Sports quoted Milner, as saying.
“We’re here to win a football match and we trained as a squad. You have highs, you have lows, and it’s down to us to make sure only thing that matters is on the field, come together and make sure we get the result,” he added.
The 24-year-old Manchester United striker ended a five-month goal drought in his club’s 3-0 Premier League win over West Ham last week. (ANI)
