Cowboys LB Ware misses practice as a precaution
IRVING, Texas — Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware missed practice Wednesday because of a head injury, but is expected to return Thursday and to be in the lineup against Chicago on Sunday.
Coach Wade Phillips said it was strictly precautionary. Ware’s head and neck were jolted by a hit with less than 5 minutes left in a season-opening loss against Washington. He went out and did not return.
“I put my head down and tweaked it a little bit. But I’m good,” Ware said before practice Wednesday. “They just wanted to make sure they took the right precautionary measures and everything is OK.”
