Davis Cup: India pull off stunning win against Brazil

CHENNAI - India made a remarkable comeback to beat Brazil 3-2 in the Davis Cup World Group playoffs at the SDAT Stadium here Sunday.

Rohan Bopanna beat Ricardo Mello 6-3, 7-6(2), 6-3 in the second reverse singles to clinch the tie for India.

Earlier, India levelled the tie in the first reverse singles when Thomaz Bellucci conceded the tie against Somdev while trailing 6-7(4), 0-4.

India were trailing 0-2 in the opening day of the tie Friday after Somdev Devvarman and Bopanna lost their singles matches.

But the famed pair of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi kept India alive by winning the doubles match on the second day.
