Commonwealth Games: England Eves defeat Canada 4-1 in hockey

NEW DELHI - England’s women hockey team defeated Canada 4-1, being held registering their second successive win in the XIXth Commonwealth Games here on Wednesday.

The team struck Canada 1-0 through a fourth-minute Diana Roemer goal. Canada struck back through Chloe Rogers to go into the half-time tied 1-1 at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.

England’s Alex Danson and Charlotte Craddock scored field goals in the 39th and 48th minutes, dominating their rivals completely in the Pool B match.

On Tuesday, England clinched a 4-1 win over Wales with a Crista Cullen hat- trick.

England now have six points in their kitty. (ANI)
