Hamilton crashes out of practice session for Japanese Grand Prix

LONDON - British Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he has made life tough for himself after crashing his McLaren during the practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix on Saturday.
Hamilton lost over two hours of development time, and only made it out for the final 10 minutes of the second practice session.
“I was probably pushing too hard, too early. It wasn’t even that big an off, it was just unfortunate that the gravel was very slippery at that point, but the mechanics did an incredible job,” The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.
“A lot of time was lost, but tomorrow’s another day and hopefully it’s going to rain so I guess everyone has to start again tomorrow. I did just four timed laps, so I was just getting back into the groove.”
“We have to work hard to keep the car on the track during practice three and then see how qualifying is,” he added.
With 182 points, Hamilton is 20 points behind Red Bull’s title leader Mark Webber (202 points).
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso is at second place with 191 points, while Webber’s team-mate Sebastian Vettel is fourth with 181 points.
Meanwhile, torrential rain at Suzuka could postpone the qualifying session for the Japanese GP until Sunday morning.
That has happened before at Suzuka, with qualifying for the 2004 race being held on the Sunday morning after typhoon Ma-on blew through the area. (ANI)
