New Zealand’s 4-0 whitewash by Bangladesh ‘embarrassing’: Doull

AUCKLAND - Former New Zealand bowler Simon Doull has labeled the Black Cap’s 4-0 ODI series whitewash by Bangladesh as embarrassing.
New Zealand lost Sunday’s fifth ODI at Mirpur by three-runs to hand Bangladesh their second ever series win against a major cricketing nation.
“It’s embarrassing. 4-0 to Bangladesh, yes they’re improving, they’re a better side and not easy at home, but they’re a side we should beat nine times out of 10,” New Zealand Herald quoted Doull, as saying.I can’t see any answers,” he added.
Doull further said that the Daniel Vettori-led team has little chances at next year’s World Cup.
“We’re going into a World Cup in two and a half months and if we think we’re going to be anywhere near the top eight we’re dreaming at the moment,” Doull said.
“They could turn it around, but it’s going to take a miracle,” he added.
New Zealand would now head to India for a three Test and five ODI tour. (ANI)
