Footie star’s Range Rover set ablaze week after alleged assault on ex-girlfriend

LONDON - Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll’s 150,000 pound new ‘Range Rover’ was set on fire outside team skipper Kevin Nolan’s house in Ponteland, UK.

It came days after Carroll appeared in court charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend Laurie Henderson.

According to Sky News, police were called on Wednesday after Carroll and Nolan saw the vehicle in flames.

Nolan’s garage door was also daubed with graffiti during the attack.

“The fire was extinguished by the fire and rescue service and no one was injured. The garage door of the property was also vandalized,” a Northumbria Police spokesman said.

“Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them,” the spokesman added.

Carroll was arrested on Sunday after his ex-girlfriend claimed that she had suffered head injuries in an assault.

The 21-year-old was freed on bail, provided that he lives at Nolan’s family home until the trial.is case has been adjourned until January 10, 2011. (ANI)
