NEW DELHI - The Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed the Central Government to implement its National Sports Policy under which the upper age limit for the ‘Heads of Sports Federations’ has been fixed at seventy years.

Turning down a plea of five federations seeking a restrain on implementation of the government policy, a bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Misra passed the order.

As per the guidelines issued by the Centre on May 1, the upper age limit for the ‘Heads of Sports Federations’ was seventy years and the chief of a sporting body was allowed to continue on the post for a maximum of three terms.

The court, however, refused to grant any respite and declined to stay the Government order. (ANI)
