SYDNEY - England batsman Jonathan Trott has said that he would continue with his peculiar pre-delivery ritual during the upcoming Ashes series against Australia.

Trott’s lengthy practice has enraged many bowlers and his team-mates in the past.

“I just go about business my own way and prepare in the way that’s helped me be successful in the past, and hopefully will be this tour as well,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Trott, as saying.

“If they’ve got a problem, have a word with the umpire, and the umpire will have a word with me. That’s the way I’ll continue to do it. It’s just how I’ve prepared, it’s just something people pick up on because other guys don’t do it.”

“It sticks out like a sore thumb because it’s different maybe,” he added.

The 29-year-old further insisted that his physical altercation with Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz in August was a ‘one-off thing’.

“Speak to anybody in the field, I’m pretty laid-back and calm. That’s just a one-off thing. It had been a long night, we’d all been up till 3am, no one had a real good sleep,” he added. (ANI)
