85-year-old Dan Campbell dares to zip across River Foyle

LONDON - Former Derry City footballer Dan Campbell aged 85 will zip across the River Foyle to raise money for Foyle Search and Rescue along with 200 people.
At 180 feet high and 400 metres long, it’s not a challenge for the faint-hearted - but Dan said he’s not even nervous.
The Londonderry pensioner says he’s well used to giving life his all.
“I’ve never been nervous in my life,” the BBC quoted him as saying.
“If you wanted me to, I’d climb to the top of St Eugene’s Cathedral spire. I put up the scaffolding for it, so I’ve been right up as high as the bell.
“I started playing for Derry City in 1947, and I was known as a wild hacker. It can’t come fast enough - I’m so looking forward to it,” he said.
Dan’s friend Danny Kelly got him involved in the event.
“He does fundraising for Foyle Search and Rescue and he told me about the zipline.
“I said to him that I’d love to do it, and the next thing I knew he’d got me a sponsor form,” he said.
“I’ve raised 245 already. But I’m doing it on one condition - that they let me go first!” he added. (ANI)
