Asian Games chess: Harika wins bronze in women’s individual chess

GUANGZHOU - India’s Harika Dronavalli claimed the bronze in the women’s individual chess at the Asian Games here Tuesday.

Chinese top seed Hou Yifan won the gold while compatriot Zhao Xue got the silver.

Grand Master Yifan won seven rounds and drew one to score 7.5 points. Xue, also a grand master, won six matches, drew one and lost one to finish with 6.5 points. Harika, with five wins, two losses and one draw, scored 5.5 points to come third.
