Asian Games cycling: Poor finish for Indians in track events

GUANGZHOU - Indian cyclists failed to make an impact on the final day of the track events at the Asian Games here Wednesday.

Atul Kumar finished 15th while Rajender Kumar Bishnoi came last in the men’s points race finals at the Guangzhou velodrome.

The medal winners of the race were Vladmir Tuychiev of Uzbekistan (gold), Kam Po Wong of Hong Kong (silver) and Iranian Mehdi Sohrabi (bronze).

India’s Prince Herbert Sara Hylem fared a touch better in the men’s keirin finals but was nowhere near a podium finish.

He finished third in heat 2. The gold and silver went to Malyasians Azizulhasni Awang and Josoah Ng. China’s Miao Zhang won the bronze.
