LONDON - Inter boss Rafa Benitez’s future is “on the line” according to reports in Italy.

According to The Sun, Benitez was called to an emergency meeting and club sources say he is for the chop unless results pick up.
The team are fifth in Serie A, six points behind city rivals AC Milan who beat them last week.

Inter president Massimo Moratti, however, has blasted the claims - and given his manager another dreaded vote of confidence.

“It seems to me that this has been invented by journalists. There are no radical decisions to be made, I have complete confidence in Benitez,” The Sun quoted Moratti, as saying.

Former Liverpool boss Benitez took over at Inter only five months ago.

He faced the impossible task of replacing Jose Mourinho who led the club to the domestic league and cup double and the Champions League crown.

Benitez, 50, said: “We all need to give more - from the first to the last.” (ANI)
