Win over Brazil “beautiful”: Messi

DOHA - Lionel Messi was happy with the beautiful last-gasp goal that gave Argentina a 1-0 win against Brazil in a friendly in Doha.

The World Footballer of the Year told the DPA Wednesday that the win over Argentina’s arch-rivals was “beautiful,” particularly since he himself had never beaten Brazil.

“I had planned that before playing,” he said. “I always looked for my chance.”

Messi had beaten Brazil with junior Argentina sides and also at the Olympics, but never with the senior national team.
