SYDNEY - England fast bowler Stuart Broad is determined to lead his team’s bowling attack ‘to throw the first punch’ during the upcoming Ashes series in Australia.
Broad has spent the past few days undergoing conditioning training in Brisbane in a bid to be in ideal shape for Thursday’s first Test.
“It’s really important that we land the first punch. I think we have a lot of confidence, but it’s all on the start,” the Daily Express quoted Broad, as saying.
“The first two Test matches will set the series up and we’ve got to make sure we’re on top at the end of the Adelaide game,” he added.
The 24-year-old further said that playing against a competitive side like Australia excites him.
“I’m expecting a good competitive spirit because this is England against Australia. I think that will bring out the best in me,” Broad said. (ANI)
