Oz fans disappointed over millionaire Becks refusal to wave to them

SYDNEY - Football fans in Sydney are reportedly miffed that As David Beckham, one of the world’s most highly paid footballers, refused to wave to them while enjoying a glass of cold beer on the Newcastle cafe strip last night.

“You’d think a little wave wouldn’t be too hard, wouldn’t you,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Lisa, a fan who was the first to arrive at the Newcastle Airport fence at 9.30 a.m. to greet Beckham and his L A Galaxy team mates for their match against the Newcastle Jets tomorrow.

She added: “I came here to see Becks because he’s a good footballer, and because I can’t see him on Saturday because my work Christmas party is on, but I would have liked a wave.”

An unshaven Beckham, however, chose to enjoy his beer at the Newcastle cafe Goldbergs last night. (ANI)
