England, now the bookies’ favourite to win Ashes series

BRISBANE - England has now overtaken Australia as favourite to win the Ashes series in 2010-11.

The Herald Sun reveals that at TAB Sportsbet, England has firmed 2.30 dollars to win the series with Australia now out to 2.40 dollars and a drawn series out to 4.50 dollars.

When series betting opened in May, Australia was a 1.68-dollar favourite with England at 5.50 dollar and the draw at 4.50 dollar.

On the eve of the first Test Australia was 1.83 dollar to win the series with England at 3.00 dollar.

At Betfair there is a keen tussle for favouritism, with Australia at 2.44 dollar to win the series, England at 2.54 dollar and the draw at 4.75 dollar.

England at one stage firmed into outright favourite at 2.52 dollar.

At sportsbet.com.au England and Australia are also equal favourites at 2.40 dollar, with a drawn series at 4.50 dollar.

Sportsbet.com.au has Australia narrow favourites for the second Test in Adelaide at 2.60 dollar, just in front of England at 2.70 dollar with the draw at 2.90 dollar. (ANI)
