LONDON - FIFA President Sepp Blatter has raised eyebrows again by joking that gay people should simply not have sex in Qatar during the 2022 football World Cup to avoid any possible punishment.

When asked whether gays and lesbians should worry about attending the event in Qatar because of its hostile attitude towards homosexuality, Blatter said: “I would say they should refrain from any sexual activities.”

Blatter, however, went on to insist that he believed discrimination would not be an issue in Qatar by 2022, saying that “we are living in a world of freedom”, Sky Sports reports.

Qatar will be the first Middle Eastern and the first Arab country to host a World Cup. (ANI)
