WELLINGTON - Auckland seam bowler Daryl Tuffey has replaced the injured Andy McKay in the New Zealand squad for the first cricket test against Pakistan.

Tuffey’s promotion was confirmed today after Wellington left-armer McKay failed to recover from a side strain.

The first match in the two-test series starts at Hamilton on Friday, Stuff.co.nz reports.

New Zealand Cricket medical staff said McKay could not yet bowl free of pain.

He is back bowling and but is not at a point where he can be considered for test selection.

New Zealand squad: Brent Arnel, James Franklin, Martin Guptill, Chris Martin, Brendon McCullum, Tim McIntosh, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori (captain), Kane Williamson, Reece Young. (ANI)
