LONDON - Tottenham FC have rejected reports that their bid to sign David Beckham on loan is not a front for their proposed move into the Olympic Stadium after London 2012.ccording to The Sun, Spurs are slugging it out with West Ham to take over the Stratford stadium after the Games, with the Olympic Legacy Committee naming the preferred bidder on January 28.

But an insider said: “It’s wrong to suggest Beckham is training at Tottenham to boost their chances of getting their hands on the Olympic Stadium.”

Spurs want to demolish most of the athletics arena and erect a purpose-built 250-million-pound football ground after the Olympics, while the Hammers want to move in as it is.

But Tottenham said they would also revamp the Crystal Palace Athletics Stadium to fulfill the legacy commitment made when Great Britain was awarded the 2012 Games. (ANI)
