Oz World Cup win without ‘legends’ will be greater achievement: Tait

HOBART - Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait reckons that it will be an even greater achievement if the Ricky Ponting-led team wins the upcoming 50-over World Cup.
The 27-year-old had taken 23 wickets in the 2007 World Cup to be the equal-second best in the tournament.
When asked if it would be a greater achievement this time if Australia could win, Tait said: “Yeah I think so. Back then (2007) we had a team full of legends.”
Tait concedes that the pressure is on him and his fellow fast bowlers to be Australia’s “Top Guns”.
However, he says that he does not feel any particular need to follow the example of Brett Lee, who is taking a new bag of tricks to the tournament including a slower-ball bouncer.
“I’m working hard all the time in the nets, trying to do different things. But if you try to change things too quickly and too often, you’ll confuse yourself,” the Age quoted Tait, as saying.
“I’m not going to hold back and try to put the ball in the right area. I’m there to bowl fast and take wickets,” he added. (ANI)
