Hobart (Tasmania, Australia), - Recalled England wicketkeeper Matt Prior wants to become England’s version of Shane Watson, turning a solid 50 into a match-winning century.mpressed by Watson’s 161 not out at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the first one-day international against England at the MCG last Sunday, Prior, who hasn’t played a one-day international for ten months, was quoted by Fox Sports, as saying: “I’m a very different player to the guy that opened the batting for England in one-day cricket however many years ago. You look at Shane Watson in the last game getting 161, it’s a match-winning total. Those are the types of innings that all batsmen are looking to get and realizing that their 40s, 50s and 60s don’t win games.”
“That’s certainly what I’ll be trying to do. First and foremost you’ve got to get in and get off to that start. Once I do that I will very much be looking forward to going on and making that big score,” he added.
Prior averages just 25.38 in 50-over cricket. (ANI)
